Lunch is coastal relaxed — linen, loafers and sundresses all sit comfortably. From 18:00 the room moves to smart elegant: tailored trousers or a dress, collared shirts, closed shoes. Jackets are admired, not enforced, at the counter and banquette tables.
Thongs, swimwear, gym wear and beach cover-ups are the hard lines at dinner — this is a restaurant that happens to sit a hundred metres from the surf, not a beach club that happens to serve dinner.
The private salons hold a firmer line after 20:00: jackets for gentlemen, evening wear for ladies, and no headwear at the tables. Tournament nights and the Friday chef's roulette run full black-tie-optional — you will not be turned away for a navy blazer, but you will feel the room.
The reasoning is practical as much as aesthetic: a dressed room plays slower, speaks lower and tips better. The standard protects the atmosphere that members are paying for.
The errors we see most: smart trainers that read as gym shoes, linen shirts left crumpled rather than pressed, and the assumption that coastal means casual after dark. None are fatal — the doorman's judgment is the standard, and a quiet word at the desk solves most questions before they reach the floor.
When in doubt, dress one notch above the plan. Nobody has ever been remembered for being overdressed at a casino table.
Dress codes are not about exclusion. They are the frame around the painting — remove the frame and the painting changes.
Guests caught short are not turned away — the concierge keeps a wardrobe of pressed jackets in eight sizes, evening accessories, cufflinks and wraps, loaned complimentary with dinner reservations. Thirty minutes' notice is appreciated; zero notice is tolerated.

Dark tailored denim passes at lunch and at the bar before 18:00. For dinner and all salon areas we ask for tailored trousers or evening wear.
Children are welcome at lunch service in neat casual dress. The dining room is adults-oriented after 20:00 and salons are strictly 18+.
Speak to the concierge — the house wardrobe covers most situations complimentary, and nobody at Coastal Eats will ever make a scene of it.
